VC2 and Digicipher2 - What's the diff?

When I go to LyngSat - Lyngemark Satellite and look at Galaxy 14 (125.0W), I see various channels with encription "NTSC-VC2" such as Showtime East, and then there are others that are "Digicipher2".

I bought the Motorola sidecar analog box (DSR905) to pick up FTA Digicipher2 signals. Will this box also pick up the FTA NTSC-VC2 signals? I guess I don't know the difference between the two.

I know these are softball questions for you pros!

DC II is digital and VC II is analog the 905 will work on the DCII but you will need a analog receiver with a Videcipher module to get the VC II channels.

Thanks Rainman. So now I'm shopping for an analog box that takes VCII. Do you have any recommendations? I'm looking for cheap..basic functionality...nothing fancy. My digital box is Coolsat 6000. This opens up a whole new can of worms. With an analog box, can I run it through the same coax to the TV? My guess is no. I will need to run a new line into the house for analog signal right? So the analog box will not be connected to the coolsat box right? I think I would keep analog box and digi setups separate from beginning to end.

The 6ft dish I will buy will run C-Band only...so this could be my dedicated analog line I suppose. Thanks in advance.

the only analog receiver that is still sold new that I know of is the US Electronics Legacy do a google search and you should be able to find one or check E bay for analog receivers. it's kind of a waste though because analog is disappearing.
