That's OK. No need to apologize. This forum is dedicated to the satellite hobby and we are all here to help new members. However there can be no discussion about illegal satellite "hacking". From your post you were asking about problems you are having with your FTA receiver. The problem you talk about is the result of downloading files into your receiver that allow it to receive encrypted signals. This is illegal. You may have damaged your receiver.

Please read Part 12 of the Rules:

12) We do not and will not allow anyone to post messages on this forum on how to hack or receive decoded satellite signals illegally. No discussion of illegal reception of encrypted programming will be tolerated! Discussions on how to hack encrypted signal, or how to install, setup, or fix a hacked product is not allowed and will subject member to banning. Discussions of Piracy, Piracy Technologies and File Sharing are forbidden. Violators will be removed from the forum and their message deleted.
Thanks.

Kat

Question I did mean that

I downloaded the factory 224 bin because I had the 236 bin but both bins are legal because they are factory bins, what I mean is that when I try to get into the installation menu the receiver get freeze and it reboots. Iam trying to get the atlantic satellite channels such as telemundo or tv marti or cubavision etc. and they are totally free to air. thats what I mean. I am watching only 5 sats. the galaxy 16, amc4, amc1 and telstar5 because the receiver is not able to display installation menu.
Thank a lot and I hope you can help me.

Cool corrupted file

By the description I believe you are running a Pansat 2500 box.
Make sure to download the factory BIN from the PANSAT official site and flash your box again.
Maybe your file got somehow corrupted and that is why you are having problems.
Once you flash it make sure to reset the box to default, so it will be just like new and start setting up your sats from scratch.
The 236 file you mentioned is the official one that can be found at the support section on the factory site and it was released on 7-13-2005.

Do not associate the word BIN with ilegal activities.

Pansat's legal files are known as BIN because of its extension.

I support 1000% to keep this hobby clean, but with all due respect I encourage the moderators not to jump to conclusions without knowing the specifics.

True, but from his post in another thread the problem he described had all the hallmarks of downloading a hack BIN into the receiver.

Yep it would make it a whole lot clearer if they would state in the beginning that they were trying to download a factory software version.

Look, moderators here are no fools. Over 50 years total experience in the satellite industry in my opinion.

I support strict rules enforcement. If someone does not like it, they can go somewhere else. Moderator please close this thread. TIA

Cool clean hobby

Nsat:

As said before I support 1000% to maintain the FTA TV reception a clean hobby.

I agree with you that rules should be very strict and continuosly enforced to keep this forum clean.

What I don't agree with you is your confrontational comment. May I ask who are you suggesting to go elsewhere?

As for the moderators I salute and present my respects to their knowledge and support.

Personally I have benefited from their corteous and professional support with straight answers to my questions.
