Conditional Access cards

I'm looking for a new receiver, and wondering if I really care about having the capability to load a conditional access card.

Regrettably, I only speak English. I would be interested in English-language subscriber channels if I could do something a la carte.

Is there a good reason for a north american English speaker to want a conditional access card?

That's what I was thinking

Thanks Rainman. I had that impression, but I didn't want to overlook anything.

Think snow!

Subs in the US are very limited and to my knowledge not in English. If fact the only subs I know of that you can get with a FTA type receiver legally are on Hispasat @ 30. Last time I dug into it the company selling subs was out of FL. All other subs I know of require that companies specific equipment. Globecast, DN, DTV are the ones I know of.
