My Newbie Questions

Greeting All,
I have these newbie questions. Please advise.

1. I am looking for a FTA receiver to replace my TRAXIS DBS-3500 because it does not pass through AC3 data. Is the receiver for motorized system different from that of stationary system? If so, how to tell?

2. I saw some eBay lists for "Fortec Mercury II", in which a description said "Satellite TV Provider : Dish Network". Does this mean that this receiver only works with Dish Network's satellite system, instead of FTA?

3. What does "7 Day Electronic Program Guide" mean?

The Mercury II receiver is only for FTA and not for Dish Network.

What does "7 Day Electronic Program Guide" mean?

It doesn't mean aything since non of the FTA channels provide EPG information. This feature is useless.

Yeah would be a great option if the channel providers would cooperate.
