Strange signal

What would be the reason for a low signal and higher quality?

A few people have reported this, and it makes no sense at all to me. I think it's just a bug in the receiver's (Mercury?) firmware. It never happens with any other receiver. I've never seen it happen myself, but I've seen all sorts of other strange things happen with the signal meter on this receiver. And Bill190 has posted about the meter not working at all in some menus, and I think I've seen that happen too. Ie I get into some windows, like the diseqC1.2 window, and the meter reading goes away, then back out to the main window, and it comes back. And other times, the meter just jumps around crazy, from zero to 70%, while on other receivers tapping off same signal, the meter reading is constant.
Anyway, hopefully once Fortec updates firmware, this sort of thing won't happen.

the only time this has happen on my Mercury was when I wasn't aligned to a sat. But as Bill said I think it is a bug with the receiver.
