what channels are you looking for if it's ku than a 36" dish will work just fine. lnb type would be linear, universal or standard. freq 11822 horz sr 5700 works just fine here. if you want c band channels you will need at least a 6' dish.

to get the TVB Vietnam channel on AMC 101 ....or you can only get it by subscribing with Direct TV?

I have a Invacom Single 0.3dB Universal LNBF SNH-031 and 36" dish.

I'm wondering what type of LNB do you use for AMC 101. I can't seem to get any signal with Invacom.....

Rainman, can you please tell me what TP you are using?

Like, when i installed the invacom lnb i cannot get the signal going. A friend of mine gave me the dish, i ordered an lnb. But it's seem like lnb not lining up with the focal point on the dish or something...

i use 11708 it comes in real strong for me 70 to 90% quality.see LyngSat - Lyngemark Satellite
for other transponders.

yeah, i did get 97W but the only channel i can understand is VTV-4 and maybe a couple more English channels. But the signal quality is very poor. So i took it down.

rainman,

On the Invacom LNB, the max tp it have is 4093 or something. It doesn't go up to or have 11800+ TP, kinda weird.

??? What ?? Transponders in a list are a function of the receiver, not the lnbf. And the Incacom lnbf is certainly not capable of tuning any transponder down in the 4093 and below range.
I'm not sure what you're trying to say here, but it sounds like you are saying that if you did a blind scan, and came up with a transponder list that was all down in the 3xxx-4xxx range? If so, then you have the wrong LO frequency entered into your receiver. If you didn't do a blind scan, but are just looking at the default transponders in your receiver's memory, then you need to edit and add some Ku freqs, because the Invacom lnbf is only capable of Ku, not C-band.

Let's start with basic. What do you have the setting for lnbf set at in your receiver?

okie, so here is what i have set up with invacom qph-031 and 36" dish:

LNB power = On
LNB Type = standard
LNB Freq = 5150 <---signal getting weaker as it goes up
22KHz = Off
TP Freq.= the receiver have from 3709 - 4134 <--- i set it to 4080 .
Search option = All
DiSEqC = none

Every other TP frequency is 50% and below. S signal is 75% on TP freq 4080 but the Q just blinking from 0-15%. If i set it to Universal instead of standard, the signal quality is the same, does not changed. No matter how i moved the dish, i seem to get nothing out of the Q signal and i got a open view of the sky, nothing blocking it.

So, i did blind scan anyways and all i got is "failed". If i could edit my receiver so it have the right TP frequency of 11708, maybe that could change the Q signal... but i see nothing about editing or adding TP freq in the receiver main menu.

Please tell me what i do wrong here .... Thanks

change your lnb freq to standard 10750. the 5150 is for c band lnb's.

But in a previous post you state you have: I have a Invacom Single 0.3dB Universal LNBF SNH-031 and 36" dish. Which lnbf do you have? If you have the one you listed before (SNH-031) you need to set your receiver to 10600 for the lnbf. If you have the QPH-031 Rainman is correct. You also need to be connected to a L port of the QPH-031. The SNH-031 will not have a L or C port designation.

what do you mean by the L or C port? the one i have is SNH-031.

I figured out how to edit the TP into the receiver. So the setting as follow:

Standard
10750 <---i changed to 10600 and lower
22KHz = On
11708

Still got nothing out of the Q signal, no matter how i moved the dish. I don't know what, but the Q signal never improved no matter what i do.

That will probably work, although not sure what you mean by "and lower".
That lnbf is a universal. Your receiver should have a universal lnbf type, which has 9750 AND 10600. It will use 9750 for the low freqs and 10600 for the high band (not sure where the switchover is), but the receiver sends out 22khz to cause it to use the 10600. Sounds like you're using a standard configuration with 10600 and 22khz on, which should cause it to use the 10600, however you'd be missing the low band on atlantic sats using it this way. When you use the universal configuration, the 22khz will usually be grayed out, and you can't set it, or it will be on an automatic or something like that.

Also, setting freq isn't enough. Make sure SR is correct too, ie the 2170.
