Exclamation 2 receivers 4 birds 3 dishes total. 1 is motorized. Is it possible ?

I want to hook-up 2 receivers. and have them each receive all 4 birds.

2 birds on 1 dish
1 motorized bird on 1 dish
1 bird on 1 dish

So the total is : 3 dishes ---> 1 motorized dish and 2 are not motorized.

The Motor I have is a STAB HH120

Is this possible and what do I need to buy ?? I have the dishes and the lnbs but I don't know how to connect them ??

I seen a close example here: Connecting Two DVB satellite receiver to 4 (dishes) lnbfs

But I still don't know how to connect the motorized lnb./dish to the others.

Any Help is Welcomed....

Thanks for the support guys...

First and obvious question is why are you motorizing a dish that will look at a single sat? If it is only pointing at one sat there is no need for a motor. Next obvious question I would see is what types of lnbf's/lnb's? Or what sats are you looking at receiving?

I will be looking at the Galaxy line of sats. and some AMC sats for the most-part. I didn't decide on it yet but those sats offer the most fta channels.

The motorized dish will not sit on one sat only, but it can only view 1 sat. at a time. (for the most part). Sorry I was not clear on that for the start.

Thanks for any help...

(I found this picture on google images and edited alil for my use. but didn't find the answer I was looking for. LoL)

Again Thanks for the help guys....

OK but the second part of my question was what sats are you trying to view. In other words I need to know what lnbs / lnbf's you are planning n using before I can recommend any switches. I would not buy anything until this point is clear. While the 22Khz switches work great in some applications with other lnbf's they do not allow the lnbf to switch internally between polarities.

So I need to know what the 4 lnbs/lnbfs are or what sats each fixed dish is pointed at. Also need to know what the receivers are.

The motorized one is a Invacom Circular/Linear Ku 0.3 dB Quad LNBF QPH-031.

The rest are Dual LNBF Circular type. (I also have 1 Standard LNBF linear Single Ku 0.4dB. That is not on any dish).

I just wanna get whatever I can with the current stuff that I have. (Kinda low with $$$ now... lol)

Please let me know what I can do. Thanks for helping me out on this :-)

When you want to have multiple receivers to be able to use the same dish and LNB, the thing to use is a multi-switch.

But before you can use a multi-switch, note there is a problem with the "polarity" (H/V) when using a SINGLE coax connection LNB.

You need to use a DUAL coax connection LNB. This is because the receiver applies 13 volts to the coax cable to get one polarity and 18 volts on the coax to get the other polarity.

You CAN'T have one receiver applying 13 volts to a single coax connection and the other receiver applying 18 volts at the same time!

The trick is to use a DUAL coax connection LNB. Then the multi-switch has two connections to the LNB. One connection is always 13 volts and one polarity, the other connection is always 18 volts and the other polarity (for use by the multi-switch). Then the multi-switch determines what polarity each receiver is wanting and connects the receiver to the appropriate connection on the LNB.

There is very little and I mean very little FTA circular out there. Best to scrap the circular lnbf's for FTA usage. So realistically you only have two lnbf's not 4. The single output linear is not of any use (in a multi receiver setup) so that takes us down to the invacom. As Bill has attempted to point out you now have the issue of polarity which the Invacom can handle BUT you are trying to run the motor from 2 receivers. Not a good plan. Best to designate one receiver as master and allow it to be the only receiver that moves the motor. Now all you need is a multiswitch installed between the motor and lnbf. I believe a 2x2 would probably do it. 2 inputs from the linear portion of the invacom to 1 motor and the other 1 receiver. Motor to receiver.
