Re: level signal of 78% and 0% on quality

Signal strength is not important. What satellite are you trying to aim your dish at? How big is your dish? What type of the lnbf? Did you use active transponder to tune? Did you set the LO correctly?
We need more info.

Hello Dtsexpert, I tried to aim at Telstar 5 and Galaxy 10R. I'm located in Dallas texas. My dish is Fortec Star FC080CM. The lnbf is universal single lnabf model FSKU-v. I left the TP as default 11749 v 7.232. I can see video and can go to all of the screen setup. However, no sounds. video and audio (l&r) cable is connected to the front of the TV. Thank you for your help.

Go to lyngsat.com to see the active transponders on T5 and G10r. You must use active transponder when tuning the dish.
Also, make sure the that you use "universal" option for lnbf setting.
Low LO 9750, High LO 10600.
Skew is importand and must be set correctly.

Dtsexpert, LNBF LO and HIGH is correctly set. For the Dallas area skew is .3 positive so I did not turn the LNB at final setup. I did turn the LNB to the west a little bit but no different in result. I use TP 12177, 12151, 12122 to tune. The receiver is preset at factory with all active TP for Telstar5 and Galaxy 10R. At 78% level signal is the best I can tune the dish up/down or left/right. No trees or building infront of the dish. However, I do have a Directv dish about 4 feets away from the new dish. I hope they don't interfered eact other? Thank you Michael.

Remember the azimuth you get from Sadoun online calculator does not include the magnetic deviation.
Try to use differenct cable to see if there are any differences.

Michael, I will try another cable tomorrow. However, with the the same cable when I disconnected it from the receiver, the level signal is down to 0% and regain back to 78% as soon as I reconnected. So I didn't think the problem could be the cable. I used a compass to lock on azimuth, for Dallas is around 180 degree south. Thank for your help Michael.

Michael, you are right on about the magnetic deviation. I was way off, the lady at sadoun gave me a new azimuth of 170.4 for Dallas. One thing though a slightly movement and I found the quality signal. Talk about sensitive, it was. Upon tighten up the screws the signal is up to 91. I had my wife keep her eyes on the TV while I try to locate the signal, that help a lot. Anyway thanks for all the help Michael....
