Fortecstar 786v3 - adding satellite issues

Hello, I was trying to add a satellite Galaxcy 3R into the receiver under the EDIT functions. It lets me add the name, but not the location @ 74°. This satellite is not on the list when the receiver arrived. It will let me add a TP. I followed the instructions on page 18 of the manual. Hope someone can shed light on this. When I go look for it it finds it on screen but there is no degrees location for it so it cannot track to that position under Diseqc 1.3. I have also set west/east limits under 1.2, but 74° is within those ends. I also just realized that this satellite is not ku-band
thanks

Re: Fortecstar 786v3 - adding satellite issues

1. G3R is not at 74W. Are you talking about SBS6?
2. You can not asign the sat location manually. That's why I have warned Fortec users be careful to delete the sats.
3. Perhaps you can do this using sat edit software??? I don't use the edit software so I can't confirm.

re: G3R

Thanks for the info. I just went thru the software and wrote down all the sats it has in it. SBS6 is one of them. It has a total of 65. I found 17 that I can search for fta from 28°W to 152W° (90° IS SOUTH). I read in an earlier post that someone had already asked Sadoun about adding a satellite with the remote. It wont work, you have to use the software. I havent gotton that brave yet! Anyways I figured out how to do the auto search with DiSeqc 1.2, but I first have to get up there in a few minutes and try to home in on the most Eastern Satellite to try to get a signal at 30.0° which is Hispasat 1C/1D, the West is Galaxy 10 R @ 123° and is working just fine.
I'm almost true south in San Antonio, Tx so I have a good change at picking up Hispasat I hope.
Again thanks
