Hello dtsexpert
Thanks for your reply.
I think it will B useful to sum up what I did Fri and Sat in an attempt to solve my prop.
First:The receiver is working nice with my Existing dish (preset at my home)

Second:My Existing Receiver ( at home) is Showing signal rating but ZERO quality with this new dish .

Third:Cable connectors show no any defect.

Thanks in advance

Is the new dish the same as the old one? Same LNB type? If not, you will have to make sure the L.O. frequency on the receiver is set properly. Is the LNB working? Can it be removed from the new dish and installed on the old dish? This will verify if the LNB is working -- I have found from experience that LNBs that show no change in signal from west to east are defective. Swap it out and see. Is the new dish aimed at the satellite you are trying to receive?

Hello Kat
I will do this to verify weather the LNB is defective OR not.
By the way
The two Fortecs R of different model
The Old is 786NA
and the new is Lifetime.
It seems to me that your dignosis is perfect due to my verificatio with the two receivers together.

Regarding the setting I was using the factory setting. Also when I connect the new receiver to the OLD dish (preset) it works out nicely
It is semi clear the defect is in the LNB.

Is it possible to get a defective brand new LNB !!
My experience in this field is not so dense as you but so far no similar case for me

I think the lnbf is bad. That's what happened to me 2 weeks ago. My Fortec universal lnbf went bad. I replaced the lnbf with a standard one which I borrowed from my friend....:-(
A little bit disapponted with the Fortec lnbf. It just died after 2 months in service.
BTW: If anyone in the Bay Area (SF, SJ or Oakland) has a spare universal lnbf for sale, let me know.

Re: Any Hints.

Did you set the LO correctly? How about the skew?
If everthing is set correctly, then you need to peak your dish again.

By the way I made the same settings for me at home to cust.

Hi
I did everything as per the requirement ie I set the LO to the factory default.
By the way I have my own Fortec 786NA at home theru which I get about 193 channels.
The new one I installed to one of my customers which is Fortec Star Lifetime.
I could get only 70.

By the way I made the same settings for me at home to my customer.

Thanks

Re: By the way I made the same settings for me at home to cu

I am a bit cofused here. Here is my understanding your post:
You are trying to install a dish for your customer, but not get all the T5 channels as expected, right? If so, check out the pre-programed transponders to see if all the active ones are there.
If all are there, then the dish dish needs to be re-peaked.

Any idea will be highly appreciated

Hi dtsexpert
Thanks for your prompt reply.
Ur understanding is exactly what I meant.
Tomorrow ISA will go to my customer to solve the issue.
I think that TPs which R pre-set in the receiver R active (at least 15 from the 20).
BTW I'm using SF 95 for finding the signal, however it is not showing any indication (I complained to Sadoun and they sent me an other one, both R giving Zero indication!!!).
What do U propose for me to use, because I'm taking so long time in installation. Mostly BirDog is the best but unaffordable to me-at least for the time being-.
Any idea will be highly appreciated.

Re: Any idea will be highly appreciated

It seems like the only option left is to use the built-in signal meter of the receiver to tune the dish.
Some suggestion:
1. Get a long power cord so that you can place the receiver/TV close to the dish.
2. Get A/V wireless transmitter and a pocket TV or a small one which uses battery, so you can place the receiver in side of the house.
Don't forget to set the skew correctly.

That's what I used to think until Sadoun convinced me otherwise; buying a Birdog was the best "install" related purchase I ever made.. if you do a lot of T5 installs elhilayla then you should BUY ONE NOW !!!!
