Where can you buy the cams and the cards for the pay television? I was on lyngsat looking at the different packages and was wondering about adding it. I just have the FTA right now. I also have the Fortec Star 786, is it hard to install the equipment to use the cards?

Re: CI Slots

The Fortec 786 does not accept CAM. Even you have a recever which accepts CAM, not all sat providers allow user using your own receiver to subscribe their service. What service are you planning to subscribe?

I don't know much about the packages you can get. I was just looking on lyngsat at all of the pay television and I didn't know how you would subscribe to them. I do have another receiver with cam. One package that I did see was the Star Choice out of Canada, or some other packages. I am new to this and didn't know how or if you can get them. I thought maybe you buy the card from them and then pay a monthly fee. I was just looking for something different than what is on cable or dish network. Is there a web sight you can go to that would sell the packages that you buy? Thanks...

Starchoice website:
http://www.starchoice.com/english/default.asp
The service is in Canada. It's not really "legal" for those living in the US to subscribe to Canada TV. So the decision is up to you. If you really want to sub to it, you can do it thru "freeway support service". Below is the website:

YOu must use Starchoice hardware for their channels
Good luck,
Michael
