Fortec Star 6000 - Green Painted Screen with non-stop boot

I have a relatively new Fortec Star 6000 FSMCI-6000, purchased 4/28/03. So far it has been working fine but as of yesterday,

- when I power it up, it seems to go thru the cycle of booting but instead of displaying one of the channels, it paints a "green screen"! Then it goes thru the cycle again...etc.

- I also noticed the "Boot" display flicker as if it were turning on/off at a high rate.

- Additionally, I cannot turn the receiver on/off thru the remote or the button on the system, I have to unplug it to turn off.

Question - Do I have a defective system?
- If not, how do I get around fixing it??
- If so, would I ship it back to you for replacement or repair?

Thanks a million for your help.

Count me in! This particular model seems to have this problem. I bought it around the same time which is 4/03 and now I have the same problem after heavy storm in my area.
Sadoun, I think it is still under warrenty, isn't it.
