Lifetime:Problems with a couple channels?

Sorry if this is a long question.
I am a new user of the Fortec Star Lifetime. I've been able to load up many channels, but am having trouble with a few, and I'm not sure if those signals are just not there or if it is a problem with my alignment, or my understanding of the receiver. Two signals in particular.
(1) Trying to lock in Fox Sports Pgh, which according to Lyngsat should be on C3, 3920 MHz V, SR30,000. I get a 72% signal, and a 50% quality, but when I do a transponder search I get zero channels found, even when I search with "all", which I "think" should lock in scrambled channels, but just not play them. I've tried to tune this signal in better, but it is difficult for me, as it is very low in the sky here (Maine), and I'm seeing it through tree limbs.
When I do an "Advanced Scan", and put in the Vid and Audio PIDs, I am able to lock the channel, but it shows up as being "scrambled or bad channel".
Question is, is this really scrambled, or is my signal just bad? Does the "Advanced Scan" search sucess really mean that it found a signal, or is it just taking my word for there being a signal there, and entering the data?
(2) On T4, Lyngsat lists Montana PBS on 12090 MHz V , SR 4340. I have had a very hard time locking onto this. One time, I was able to lock and save a channel, but it listed itself as "Tadiran Scopus" (whatever that means). The signal is not strong enough to show video, but once it popped up a partial page showing some english advertisements, which mentioned locations in Wisconsin I think.
Question is, is Montana PBS really on this transponder, or is something else. If it is, then why did it show up listed as "Tadiran Scopus"????
Thanks. Sorry for long post.

!st, I just want to be sure you are also set with what you need for "C-band" reception besides "Ku-band". You do have a large dish, and a c-band lnb right? If so, then do you receive other C-band channels? You should be able to receive Fox Movie Channel on C-3 right now. Fox sports net channels are not used all the time on that Satellite so don't assume that there is a receiver problem. I am using a Lifetime receiver with a "C-band" dish (also known as a BUD (Big Ugly Dish)) and a 90 cm dish. I do not use the Ku LNB on the big dish for the digital signals. The 90 cm dish is stricktly for the Digital Ku stuff. Back to your 1st question, sometimes I get good signal and quality but no sound/picture. I do lock in on the scan though. Scan as "all" not "FTA". C-3 is a strong satellite.
I can't help you on your second question since I haven't done much looking on T-4. If I get a chance I'll take a look to see what I get.

Thanks for the reply. Re your questions, yes, I'm using a BUD. I have a relatively weak signal due to trees, but am getting the weather and history channels (only things I subscribe to on that sat) not too badly. Also could get the DCII free things last time I tried. Usually if I can lock in weather, I can lock in the DCII digital things, so I expected the same for MPEG. Hopefully when the leaves fall next month, I'll get a better signal. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't chasing a signal that wasn't there anymore, or that I was using the new receiver wrong.
Thanks.
