Sorry if this is a long question.
I am a new user of the Fortec Star Lifetime. I've been able to load up many channels, but am having trouble with a few, and I'm not sure if those signals are just not there or if it is a problem with my alignment, or my understanding of the receiver. Two signals in particular.
(1) Trying to lock in Fox Sports Pgh, which according to Lyngsat should be on C3, 3920 MHz V, SR30,000. I get a 72% signal, and a 50% quality, but when I do a transponder search I get zero channels found, even when I search with "all", which I "think" should lock in scrambled channels, but just not play them. I've tried to tune this signal in better, but it is difficult for me, as it is very low in the sky here (Maine), and I'm seeing it through tree limbs.
When I do an "Advanced Scan", and put in the Vid and Audio PIDs, I am able to lock the channel, but it shows up as being "scrambled or bad channel".
Question is, is this really scrambled, or is my signal just bad? Does the "Advanced Scan" search sucess really mean that it found a signal, or is it just taking my word for there being a signal there, and entering the data?
(2) On T4, Lyngsat lists Montana
PBS on 12090 MHz V , SR 4340. I have had a very hard time locking onto this. One time, I was able to lock and save a channel, but it listed itself as "Tadiran Scopus" (whatever that means). The signal is not strong enough to show video, but once it popped up a partial page showing some english advertisements, which mentioned locations in Wisconsin I think.
Question is, is Montana PBS really on this transponder, or is something else. If it is, then why did it show up listed as "Tadiran Scopus"????
Thanks. Sorry for long post.
