Motor not stopping

Hello, all! Long time reader, first time poster. Okay, I am having a problem with my newly set up system. The system that I am setting up is the Fortec Star Classic system that Sadoun has. It is the motorized one for 229. I have followed the set up exactly and have looked over it a dozen times to make sure I have not done anything wrong. The trouble begins when I go inside the house to start the initial set up. I turn on the Fortec Classic, it says "No Channels Found", of course I understand why. So I hit the menu button, go to the positioner part. I decide to use USALS to help get my signal going. I leave the initial satellite (IA5) just like it is, 97 degrees isnt that far from my 79.3 degrees. But anyway, I enter my longitude and latitude, and press save and exit. Then it says that it is moving the dish to the satellite. So far so good. Until I go outside and my dish is all the way cock eyed to the west. It went until the motor couldnt go anymore in one direction. The dish, or should i say my reciever, didnt attempt to stop at the desired satellite. I dont know what is going on.

I have moved the motor back to "zero". Reset the motor. Reset the reciever to factory defaults. But to no avail. Still the same thing. Also, I have payed special attention to what I put in USALS as my Lat and Long. I know I am doing that right.

I would love to get this thing working as it is really cool. And I stay out in the country with no cable service, and I dont watch enough TV to pay Directv. (and the wife keeps asking it i got it working)

I know people are going to ask so here is my set up.

I have the Fortec Ultra, (not the classic) and one thing to take a close look at, is when you enter your long/lat, my Ultra defaults to "E" and I have to right arrow to change it to "W" before I save and exit.

That error will make your motor think you are on the other side of the world.. and try to put the dish in that spot!

It's not that because my reciever is defaulted to "W".

Okay, guys, I got the reciever to control the motor properly. First, I reset the reciever and motor, then as I was entering my lat. and long. in USALS I changed the defaulted "w" to "e" and back again. Dont know if that really is what fixed it but it is working now.

This stuff is really amazing in my opinion! Crazy watching some asian music videos. At least the girls dont look that bad.....

glad to hear you've got it sorted out.

My favorite I came across was the asian version of "Who wants to be a millionaire".
