Some Wrong!

I just got the Mercury II package. I alligned the dish in the direction of
IA5 C 97 W. I found only some Radio station. The Signal level and quality were 80% and 70%. However, I change from C band to Ku Because all TV(2M, Al maguribia...) are on Ku band, then I lost the signal, 2-4% Level and 1-4% quality. I think I screwed the receiver setting.
can you help me?

check www.lyngsat.com
for active TP. then try moving dish east and west slowly to get a lock on the signal may also need to adjust elevation up or down to get best quality.remember to make small slow adjustments then recheck for quality level.also make sure the lnb power is turned on.

Can you give me an example on how to choose an active Tp. all what I see is channels with their frequencies and Symbol rate. If it was allignment problems I should get like 35-45% S.L.Q, I'm getting 0-4%

You didn't say where you were located, but from the above settings, it sounds like you're near Columbia, Md. Is that correct? Just checking.

Re the problem, as Rainman said, check the LNB type. It sounds like you initially did a blind scan, which doesn't care what the setting is, and probably found a few things at the wrong freqs, but when you changed to Ku, you probably switched to the wrong LNB type, ie standard vs universal vs single (still curious about that one).
And above, you said you had a universal lnbf. Is that what the lnbf said on it, or is that what you have it set on, or both?

Switched from C band to Ku band? I am not familiar with your receiver but I have never seen a C band indicator or a Ku indicator. Can you specify what you mean here? Mine has a IA5 C and a IA5K for sat entries is that what you are referring to?

If so I would guess your lnb settings that you made in the IA5C are probably correct for IA5K and incorrect for IA5C. So in other words you may have IA%c the sat entry setup with a Ku lnbf setting of some sort and the wrong settings for lnbf in the IA5K entry.

The receiver does not switch C Ku per say. It runs from what the lnbf settings are.
