QPH-031 Quad LNB and SG2100 with Fortec Ultra

Hello

Hello
I purchased a QPH-031 Quad LNB about a week ago. The LNB is a great product. I am having a problem though using the LNB with a DMS International DiSEqC 4*1 Switch, I have tried two of them incase one was faulty. If directly wired to the LNB whether it be Circular or Linear it works fine with my Fortec Lifetime Ultra. As soon as I place the DiSEqC switch in line my receiver turns on and off. There is one more factor in the situation and it is a DiSEqC 1.2 motorized H-H motor model SG2100. I am mainly using both linear outputs for two separate receivers. I have changed from a Samsung universal LNBs since I had one dish on IA-5 and the other was motorized. I had the switch in line with both dishes. The Fortec receiver worked fine with this set up. What I my thinking is, that QPH-031 requires more current and with the SG2100, my Fortec can not power both the new LNB and the motor in the DiSEqC mode. If this is so, what can I do to remedy this problem? I do not want to go back to the two dish situation.
If I have to modify the receiver, I am capable of doing so. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Gary

I am using the qph-031 invacom with a ultra receiver with sadoun 4 way disqec switch with no problems. have used it in usals mod and disqec mode for the stab 100 motor no problems. are you putting the disqec between the motor and receiver or th motor and lnb. mine is between the motor and lnb. its weather proof so no problems mounting at dish. see www.sadoun.com for a 4 way disqec switch with weather cover.

The DiSeqC really needs to be between the motor and lnbf. While it might work between the receiver and motor it will not work long. I just burned one out doing exactly that. I have multiple dishes feeding a single FTA receiver and was using the DiSeqC inside the house. Worked fine for about 5 mos or so. Still changes channels correctly but no longer passes enough current to drive the motor. Kinda doubt it will change polarity correctly either

I have come to the conclusion that if using multiple dishes you really need an A/B switch of some sort. I have yet to find one that works for a satellite system. Honestly I have not looked that hard. Bought one at Radio Shack and it did a fine job of stripping signal Sadoun may have some in his switches section of the site.
