Turn off the password prompt?

I have no need to password protect my channel settings on my Lifetime Ultra, is there a way to disable the password prompt?

Is it a channel lock or a sat lock? I have a PLatinum which may not be the same but the sat lock is located in the sat scan screen. Channel lock is located in the channel manager.

I have never had any password prompt appear on any screen. I see that there is a place to create and enable a password on the parental control screen, but I never created one. Did you create one (I assume you must have or you wouldn't know what it is)? Did you try setting the menu lock to off? If you bought the receiver used, and it already had a password, or the above didn't work, I guess you could reset to factory conditions, or, as a last resory download new firmware.
