Problem with rolling screen

I am having problems with my new Fortec Star Lifetime classic receiver. I can't get it to stop rolling. Can anyone tell me how to reset it or a quick fix.

the receiver is in pal format hook a black white tv to receiver you should be able to see the screen to navigate the menu to put it back to ntsc format.

This question is also addressed by Sadoun. Do a search but may even be here in the Fortec area as a sticky http://www.sadoun.net/forums/fortec-...ould-i-do.html
By the way problems is not what one would consider a good subject. If you try to state what you problem is in the subject line it makes for easier searching in the archives. Example: Problem with rolling screen Not trying to be nit picky just trying to help others in the future that experience the same problem as yours.

I might be wrong, but I don't think it has to be a black and white TV, just that it has to be an OLD TV. I think an old color TV would work, and I'm guessing that a NEW B/W TV might not work. But most B/W TVs are old, so that works too.

No B/W TV required. This is very simple to fix.

Follow instructions for the CLASSIC NA receiver.

Not sure if "No B/W TV required" above meant that you didn't need a B/W TV, or if it meant "NO, a B/W TV IS required" .
However, to clarify, the correct answer is that a B/W TV is NOT required, and you CAN use a color TV, but only if your color TV is old enough, and by "old", what I'm referring to is old enough to have a vertical hold knob. Almost all old TVs have a vertical hold control, but the newer TVs have very tight timing, and don't have a vertical hold control.
To make sure, I just tried it with my old color TV, and it works fine. I switched the Fortec to PAL, and the screen started rolling, at which point I just adjusted the vertical hold, and it stopped the rolling. Switched back to NTSC, and it rolled again, adjusted the hold, and it stopped it again. So no need to buy anything new, if you happen to have an older TV that has vertical hold.
It's interesting that a NEW B/W TV also works. I'm a bit surprised.

It's no mystery. The frame rate is different between PAL and NTSC. Older televisions had a 'vertical hold' control that, in fact, allowed variation of the frame rate (actually, what they allowed was changing the frequency of the vertical oscillator that, when synchronized with the incoming signal, allowed it to be properly decoded). If the vertical oscillator frequency was too high or too low, the picture would appear to 'roll'.

Then, of course, there was the 'brightness' knob... which, no matter how often or vigorously I turned it, never increased the intelligence of the programming material...

I meant B/W TV is NOT required in this case because the solution is simple.

Ifis happened in other receiver models, a B/W TV or simply a Flat screen TFT Monitor with video input will work.
