Fortec Star Lifetime Remote problem

I bought a complete Fortec Star Lifetime system last week. I have been able to install the system, and my wife and I are enjoying the TV and Radio programs from the Middle East region. I thank you for your prompt and efficient transaction and customer support.

I have a minor problem with the remote control, and I am not sure the problem is related to the receiver or the remote. When I press on Power on, the receiver turns on and off several time before it eventually stays on. Is this the normal behavior? Second problem is that I can not install my favorite channels, pressing on FAV button brings a menu, but whatever I have done, I have not been able to add a channel to the list. When I followed the instruction in section 5.4 nothing happened, and no channel was added to any list. The manual does not say anything about F1, F2 or F3 buttons, are these favorite 1, 2 and 3? In either way they are not functional. My remote is Foretec Star, is it possible that this is not compatible with the receiver?

The power button on the remote could be stuck. Try to move it gently by hand to release it if stuck. When you turn the receiver ON it should only BOOT once and go to the channel number.

You can organize your favorite channels by going to:
MENU > CHANNEL EDIT> TV CHANNELS > Favorite

I hope this helps..

Diffrent people complain about the Fortec remotes and I am one of them.
some times I have to press on the button many times for the remote to work even though it's new and has new batteries. I saw many messgaes in other forums about the same problem with fortec remotes

You know, some people forget to remove the protective plastic covering the front panel. That keeps the signal from reaching the receiver.

Also, the angle you point the remote towards the receiver is important since it is an IR remote.

Have you noticed the channel changing speed on the LifeTime receiver? It is faster than many other receivers on the markt today.
