bird detection

Hi,

I'm new to the FTA world. I have a Fortec classic and I'm trying to get the 97W sat (IA5). No channell so far. However, I noticed that the signal bar in the bottom of the screen is now orange instead of red. Although the strongest signal I get is 29%, does this mean that I'm at leat getting some signal from the right bird.

Thanks

The only way to know if you are getting signals from the right bird is to scan it and then check the channels you are getting with Lyngsat. Your receiver doesn't know what satellite your dish is pointed at. Does your Fortecstar Classic have one or two bars at the bottom of the screen to tell you your signal strength, quality?

Signal par should read locked. If it does say that and IA 5 KU is selected on the top, then go down to TP freq and change it. look to see if signal still reads locked. If you have a lock on most Frequencies then you should be on the right satellite. Now 29% is little bit weak but you still can try to scan satellite and see. Press ok on the first line on top where it says SCAN (Options found under Antenna setup page).
