Fortec Ultra setting with HH90, DiSEqC, and Invacom LNB

:mozilla_cry: I recently purchased a Fortec Star 90cm dish, Lifetime Ultra receiver, HH90 rotor, DiSEqC 4x1, and Invacom Dual polarity LMB. For starters, I am having a heck of a time aiming the dish in the frigid weather of montreal. I got all of my Lat/Long, and Dish elevation from Stab. I am pointing true South, including my MAg Dev of +15 deg, so I get a Az heading of 195. Next, I go to the antenna setup of the receiver and try to select a sat, either SBS 6 or AMC5 and try to fill in the menu choices, such as LMB type, LMB Lo, 22kHz, DiSEq, LMB power, positionner. I also called Fortec directly regarding my prblem, and they told me to install a FSKU-2V LMB from Fortec (single polarity) directly to receiver, bypassing the motor. I have not tried this due to a snow storm, but am wondering if anyone has any answers or guidance.

Regards[/b]

What satellite are you pointing at? If i understand correctly, you have the mount pointed at true south right now. It is best have the dished lined up with a true south satellite to start. I think it's AMC5. i havent checked. anyway, line that up first, then try stuff.

I did not try that yet due to a snow storm, about 41 cm of snow, and will need to get my hands on the universal LMB.

Thanks for advice, I will try on Saturday. By the way, how should I fill out the antenna setup for AMC5 using the dual polarity LMB with DiSEqC switch. I have C on 1 and L on 2

ah, well that will do it. but when it clears up and your hands dont stick to the LNB arm, try lining up on AMC5 to test your system.

Hmm, i'm not familiar with the Fortec system or those dual LNBs. I hope someone else can answer the setting question.

C(circular) on 1 and L(linear) on 2. If you are trying to line up AMC5 that is a linear satellite, so choose 2 in the diseqc settings, 22khz off, for lnb type choose one with a frequency of 10750, that is what the invacom does on the L side. For nimiq and most echostar sats choose 1 as they are circular(C), for positiioner choose USALS, it makes it much easier to setup the satellites. Oh, one last thing, don't buy one of those universal lnbs, they are a good lnb, I have one but with your dua polarity invacom you don't need it, not sure why fortec would tell you to do that. Good luck
