To delete a Satellite

During installation, I tested the Antenna Setting for IA5/ku satellite. Once I have done the setup, I need to delete this satellite as I am not going to watch any programs in this. Now, I looked at the Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra Manual and it says

"Satellite with a check mark cannot be deleted".

This check mark was not there before I started using for testing.

Question?
How to delete this satellite so that it does not show in my list for power scan.

Thanks in advance

There is a checkmark there because you have selected that satellite for your testing. You do not need to delete the satellite IA5, in fact I would not. When you do the power scan you select which satellite(s) you want scanned -- you don't need to power scan all of them. To prevent power scanning IA5, simply press the right arrow key (I think) to remove the checkmark; then IA5 will not be scanned.

Go into "channel settings" and do "delete all channels" for IA5

That will get rid of the individuals channels.

Then do as bobcat says, simply move left (or right) arrow to remove the checkmark on the satellite list.

Then it will just "be there" and your system will just not use it.
Sort of like a satellite on the list that you cannot see from your location.

I may be wrong, but I think both these approaches contribute to the potential problem of the too many transponders situation. Ie if you uncheck it and leave it there, or I think even delete it, I'm pretty sure that it's transponders are still contributing to the total, which is from the start very close to the limit, and as we've seen, very strange things happen when you exceed the limit.
Although these approaches are advisable until more familiar with the receiver, I think that the best long term thing to do once is to learn to use the channel editor program, which will allow you to delete and/or create satellites, transponders and channels to suit your preferences.
