which one is better, and why

So for a total newbie, except for maybe a little directv experiance,

Of the Classic, and the Ultra, which one might be a better choice for me?

I live in California and plan on getting it with the 4 foot motorized dish.

the classic is newer than the ultra..

both do the same thing and let you watch FTA channels.

Perhaps you can compare features and see.

It reads like the ultra is faster? Is that so?

And it also lists the program guide? Is that on standard on both machines?

Are these not the same as the classic?

I really don't know what all I'm looking for?

Does one have a better more sensitive reciever?

Or, does one offer a much more convinient style?

I think they both run at the same speed.. 81 mhz. the classic NA has 2 mb flash memory while ultra has 1 mb. They both have 8 mb SDRAM.

There is basically no use for the program guide on FTA as far as my experience goes.

I prefer Ultra over Classic. Ultra has en extra Signal Quality scale and Classic does not.

I like the CLASSIC because it has fast channel changing. More control over Power Scan "Blind Search" feature.
