infos needed

Hi all.
1st thanks to forum. i have a fortec star lifetime classic, i would like to know how add new satellites, and i would like to know if there is any satellite around 95W that has a movie's channel. i live in lawrence kansas, and i have a positionner whiche i would like to take advantage of exploreing all the satellites that i can reach. also can anyone please tell me how do we calculate degrees, when we say 90W or 13E how do we calculate that, it is acording to what?

can't help you much on the classic. but satellite degrees is figure by the longitude they are station at. :mozilla_smile:

It is in reference to the earth's longitudinal lines. Any satellite west of the prime meridian (0 degree line) will be labeled with a W and anything east will be with E. Eastern satellties are for Europe and are not reachable to north America. Find out your latitude + longitude according to your zip code and then you will know where the satellite is located in reference to your location. There are calculators made to calcuate the azimuth, elevation, and skew of a satellite in reference to your location.

check www.lyngsat.com to see if anything like this is available. FTA channels come and go often but most stay..
