bobkat helpppppppppppp once again

hi bobkat need your help once again, i am trying to update my receivers firmware and when i open the uploader i get a message saying Please try STB power OFF and ON. what am i doing wrong i think all my settings are ok per fortec's instructions

Sorry but I have never worked with a Fortec receiver; but am looking forward to trying one out very soon. I think you should ask Sadoun about Fortec help.

When you download software to your receiver from your PC, your receiver should be disconnted from power.

Connect your receiver to the PC using the serial cable.

When you get the message "Please try STB power OFF and ON", connect the receiver to the power. The program will start downloading to your receiver automatically.

still a no go with your instructions sadoun. please what else can i do, i keep on getting the same message and it doesnt download

Warning: All users should be reminded that changing the software from the original factory installed software must be done by an authorized Fortec Star technician. Otherwise, the receiver's warranty is voided and the user assumes the responsibility for any malfunction

Don't forget to use a NULL modem cable.
