what is this LNB meant ?
Hi All ,,,
I have the Fortec Lifetime Ultra with a Universal Quattro LNB made by Omni Dekora ZKF-J24N.
Freq: 10.70-12.75GHz
L.O: 9.75 / 10.60 Ghz
I can use this set ok either upstair or downstair by changing the coax cable but cannot use 2 cables into its 2 LNB slots. It has 4 plugs Low Band V/H and Hi Band V/H . Right now I can only plug 1 cable in H Hi Band ... The remaning 3 slots are so useless to me as I don't know what they are used for ... :mozilla_cry:
Can anyone please tell me what my LNB is ? as of V is Vertical and H is for horizontal ... but what do they meant ?
=D> Thanks for helping a n00bie like me ... :mozilla_wink:
\ / Peace ,,, \ /
Benny ...
PS: what does it meant by LNBF ? LNBS ?

try a new scan
Try the 2nd cable with a new scan. good luck
LNB means LOW NOISE BLOCK, it converts the high fregency from the satellite to a much lower frequency that your reciver can be read.
I have the same LNB, it works fine for both receivers in any of four outlets form the LNB. How many reciever do you have? What satellite you are watching?

kayjaig ,,,
=D> Thanks for your reply !!! =D>
I now only have 1 Fortec Lifetime Ultra Receiver. I am watching IA5 97W ...
Yup, I did and have to rescan after the unplug and swapping the cable ...
kayjaig, does your LNB have the label lowband V/H ; hi band V/H on it ?
I am asking because right now I have the cable goes into H of hi band . If I have the second cable from upstair goes into V of hi band. I have to rescan in order for the channels to appear and I noticed that it has a diffrent set of channels after rescan. On the V hi band I can see channel 1-99 but not higher ... and the H is opposite, cannot goes lower than 99 on the remote ... It has to be channels 100 and up ...
Is it because of the V/H { vertical/horizontal } different ? or ...
Do you think because I only have 1 receiver that is the cause of it ?
I tried to use the regular Y switch { 2 cables : downstair and upstair to 1 cable to that H Hi Band } but no luck... The signal must be loss when splitting like that , right ?
It 's not required to use the 4 way diseqc right ? ... not unless if I have 2 dishes ....
 thanks in advance for " another " reply/replies ... :mozilla_laughing:

try diseqc switch
you cannot use any regular spliter. make sure all you cable is without one. hmmm... sounds like you have a different LNB, try to use a diseqc switch ( you may buy one from ebay abount $5) connect to both H and L (outlet 1 and 2 of LNB) to diseqc switch LNB1 and LNB2 with 2 shorter cable then to your 1st cable directly to your receiver, so your receiver will scan both H and L. do the same on the 2nd cable with outlet 3 and 4 of LNB to another diseqc switch later if you like. good luck
i assume your lnb has 2H and 2L outlets, 1 and 3 are H, 2and 4 are L.

Which is Which... Still abit confused RETARDED mind !!! :(
Thanks for the reply kajaig ,
Yup I have 2 sets of V and H but not like what you said ...
Mine are like these : low band has V H ; hi band V H ...
so from the pic look like this :
low band hi band
V H V H
The Power Scan will do the Vertical / Horizontal frequencies or transponders ... not like you said my receiver will scan both H and L, right ?
so ... do I connect V H from hi band to a diseqc .. to the receiver ?
not like V V to the diseqc to the receiver ...
not like H H to the diseqc to the receiver ... RIGHT ?
This LNB got me so confused and very troublesomes when I think about it. I wish the Omni Dekora is a big company and infos will be available on the net so I can check its infos out but so far I couldn't find out anything. I asked the guy i bought it from and darn it... he had no clue neither. He said he only sell ; nothing more than that !!! Oh well, I learned from my mistake and hope the next time the lucks will be on my side, lolz ~
laterz 4 now,,,

try hi band VH
try use the hi band V H on your diseqc switch, cause on IA5 most transpondes are in higher frequency( Ku band, the low frequency tranponder are the C band. So your LNB is combine of C and Ku band .can you able to see many channels on IA5?
check for channels list for IA5

good day[/u]

Kayjaig ,
thanks to you .. the channels coming in alot on IA5 ... but most of them duplicated ... and my favorite channel still MIA from the screen
After an hour to play around with it with no luck on my side, I went back to the solution 1 cable on Horizontal of Hi Band ... made a Satellite scan and voila ... my favorite channel VTV4 coming in nicely !!!
I am sure the recent change has something to do with it ...
Thanks alot for helping me kayjaig ...
Best wishes ,,,

bravo
Bravo....
that is good you got what you want. As i remember MIA is belong to AMC3 parked at 87 West. IA5 parked at 97 West. a 10 degree apart. you must twisted you dish abit. Anyway i am glad you have your favorite channels to watch.
VTV4 has changed their transponder lately. i believe you got the latest one. how is you quality level, is it above of 70%. if not you may tune it up a bit by twist you LNB ( Not the dish) to either counter clock wise or clock wise, you will see the differences. ( Press the SIG button on the remote to has the quality level shown on TV, then do the tune up). High quality level will not effect your picture in the bad weather.
Nice to talk to you benny666, i am California guy, which part of the country do you live? have a nice day.

icurfatass ,
I dunno if it 's a linear or circular or both because after i bought it, I couldn't use 2 rooms cables for two LNB plugs so I guessed I am screwed . I only need 1 lnb plug { I used the H of Hi Band --- dunno if the H of Low band work or not } and the dish I am using is 31 inches ...
I asked the guy I bought it from and he told me he doesn't know anything of it --- only selling so ... well at least I was watching it and now I went back to the dark screen TV because I put it on the motorized system and it got worst and worst ... I missed my FREE fta channels ... :mozilla_cry:
icurfatass j00 r watching tv now ?
Best wishes ,,,
Benny ...

What satellite are you watching now?
You mentioned you are using only one of the outputs? There are total of 4 Low: V and H High V and H.... Did it work before? Does it work for other satellites? Maybe one is circular and the other is linear?
Did it work before the motor install?

icurfatass ,
I just got my FTA channels back from the dead motorized system ... =D>
I am watching satellite IA5 for now ... I use H of Hi band as H worked better than V ... I cannot able to use 2 cables one is upstair and one is downstair to the 2 of the 4 LNBs so I have to unplug from 1 to the another in switching of the H from Hi Band ... What a headache troublesomes to go out of the backyard, get up to the roof of the Patio to switch the cable but it works so I have to spare the hardship of exchanging the cables.
As I mentioned earlier, I dunno if it is a linear or circular or both so I don't bother to try ... As a fixed dish, I cannot know if it works on other satellites and for the motorized system , I am too dummy to get it to work... maybe it's a mast not plumb enough or something else, who knows ??? If I ever get my motorized working, I will let j00 know , ok ? As for now , the other 3 LNBs are not worthing anything to me... They are there but not doing anything g00d so ... why bother !!!
I am too happy to get my FAVORITE channel from IA5 today ... It might be a long while for the motorized system pogress as my friend is out of town for now ... He is g00d with this stuff and I need his expertised advice badly what to do steps by steps ...
Can j00 do the same in reporting back of these LNBs about linear, circular or both please ?
Sincerely Thanks alot , man !!!
Benny,,,
