Dish use

I just joined the forum, I want to know if a dish that was used to receive Directv, with the LNB as well, can be used with a Fortec FTA receiver.
Please, i need a detailed answer, because I do not have other options than using it.
Many thanks

tonada

What channels/sattelites are you interested in? The tyival answer is that for mos Ku band Free to air stuff you need minimum 30" dish. Also You will need either standard or universal LNBF as opposed to circular dish/directv lnb.

Dear Kat:

the reason I want to know about the use of the dish and the LNB, is because I do not live in the US, an in the country I live in having a dish is considered a felony!
I am not a hacker, therefore I do not have the opportunity of buying any kind of equipment.
I hope you understand
Many thanks

Tonada

Estas en Cuba?

Estas en Cuba? Conozco algo de la habana y me recuerdo que hay muchos satellitas illegales....
