Question about Lyngsat.com and AMC4/AMC5 in Seattle area.,
In Lyngsat.com for AMC4 shows WVGN-LP (NBC) on Freq. 11991 H, tp 14, but I can’t get this channel. Any idea why? Also anyone in the Seattle is receiving signal from AMC5 & G4R satellite because I can’t get any signal.
Thanks,
Ed
My equipment:
Fortec star lifetime ultra receiver
90cm dish with motor (SG2100)
LNB - Universal

Maybe six months ago, I was a regular viewer of WVGN. But, come springtime, the signal started getting weaker (blocking, frozen picture) and eventually it disappeared from my screen altogether.
Everything else on AMC4 was/is okay, so I never bothered to fine-tune my dish to try to re-capture that one station.
I haven't tried looking for it lately, but I wonder if that transponder had suddenly just started getting weaker on us.

yeah that NBC station is super-weak and/or is tightly focused east. I dont think it was ever that easy to pull in.
I am a bit south of you and am receiving AMC5 signals alright.

I've never been able to get it here in Toronto and believe me, I've tried... :mozilla_frown:

I can get WVGN but the highest signal strength I can get with a 1m dish is 55% in good weather. I`m 150 miles north of Seattle in Vancouver, B.C.
No problem getting AMC5 here.

For fun I just tried to get that TP with NBC on it but no luck. Despite getting the best signal and quality readings ever off of AMC4, i couldnt get anything on that transponder. Im using a 90cm dish and a pansat 2500.

Ok, I tried and I can't get any signal from AMC5.
About WVGN, I guess I will wait for fall or replace my dish with 1.2m after the dual LNB (C & Ku) goes on sale. I hope the SG2100 motor can support a 1.2m dish.
Thanks,
Ed

Yeah, that's got to be the reason. I've only used 0.5 dB LNBs.

Kat,
Prior to the Invacom I had the same 0.5db lnb and was in the same situation as yourself couldn't receive WVGN.
The Invacom makes a huuuuuuuuge difference.
