Fortec ultra set up

I found following the book was easy, but it did not work as stated at all.

after playing with it, checking everything, and being around c band systems for 25 years.

I found the simple way, to start this baby, is as follows

hook everything up as stated, I also used a cheap sat meter in line
that has a meter and makes sound when you are on a bird.
*** you must do the basics, like English, what kind of lnb, and power on to lnb, also your rf out like ch3, and select the specific satellite to down load. you also could use a sat listing of their degrees if you do not know.

Then, instead of doing what that book says, go to power scan

and start that, it takes about 10 minutes, but that little box, figures out
everything, and wham I was watching crystal clear pictures :mozilla_tongue:
I hope this may help a beginner, no your stuff is not broke, it just takes time to figure it out and go thru the many computer screens built in that little set. =D>

Yes, smart tip.

The most important thing to setup in the receiver, if you ahve an existing dish, is the LNB type.

Most BUD dishes have standard KU-LNB. So,
LNB Type: STANDARD
LO Freq: 10750

If you have a UNIVERSAL LNBF,
LNB Type: Universal1
LO Freq: 9750/10600

Then Exit, Click OK to Store. Go to SMART SCAN. Scroll down to FTA and click OK.The receiver will do it job.
