will not take software just show the word boot???

I received a fortec receiver 486v3 and nobody can install software on this receiver. the word boot appears across the frt of it?

what are you actually trying to do? what "software"?

i hooked everything up right to my satellite dish and nothing happens . no menu to scan for satellites or no picture at all. i am using a dishnetwork dish. ineed help ?
