Help with Furtec Star please

Hi I'm a newbie with the Furtec Star. Install my DirectTV and upgrade to HD dish with no problem but not familiar with the Furtec Star. A few questions:

1. I am using a Direct TV dish with dual LNB with the Fortec Star. Do I need to use the external switch in order to use the fortec Star or can I hook the RG6 cable direct from the Direct TV TV dish to the Fortec receiver?

2. I am in 94132 and having no luck in getting level or quality signal. Can someone recommend a satellite to use in my area with it's elevation and Azimuth settings.

3. The Direct TV dish does not have a LNB polorize skew tilt and most satellite require it so am I out of luck or can I only use certain satellite with the Fertec receiver?

Directv dish is to small to receive any FTA programming on Ku sats. Also, Directv LNB is using circular polarization. Most Ku satellites that have any FTA programming are using linear polarization and require a different kind of LNB (like this one http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Products/F...ersal-LNBF.htm ).

What satellites/channels are you looking to receive?
