Fortec Star DVB-786NA uploader

My problem is in regards to the Fortec Star DVB-786NA. I think I loaded the wrong boot loader software to it. The display is blank and the uploader software on the monitor tab just says "BABO system rebooting" over and over again. I cannot find the boot loader software on the Fortec Star website. Please help me.

Re: Fortec Star DVB-786NA uploader

I don't think there is any.

You'll probably need to send the unit back to Fortec and they might be able to fix it (or not), or you've created a doorstop...

Re: Fortec Star DVB-786NA uploader

But I am still able to run the uploader on the unit and successfully transfer software. I just need to get the right software to transfer. I will call Fortec today. Thanks for your reply, I'll post their answer.

Re: Fortec Star DVB-786NA uploader

Well, I talked to the Canada office. The best guy they have does not even seem familiar with the firmware upgrade process. He says they do not have the software for the older models anymore other than what is on their website. The Dubai office so far has not replied to my attempts to contact them.

Sadoun has been immensely more knowledgeable, but still cannot solve my problem.

Probably my next step is to try to acquire another unit and see if I can transfer from one unit to the other.

If anyone has any advice, please post it.

Stupid question...were you trying to load third party software on it when this happened?

Re: Fortec Star DVB-786NA uploader

No, I was only trying to upgrade the software to the latest version. But as noted in posts by other users, the Uploader 4 software is incompatible with the DVB-786na model. I tried to upload with transfer mode "All" and it did not work. In an effort to fix it, I then mistakenly loaded the wrong model's boot loader software. I think all I need is the original boot loader software for this model. However, no one seems to have it. It is not on the Fortec website, and I can't even get an answer from Fortec on whether such software ever existed. I did find a DVB-786v3 boot loader file that seems to indicate there should be a file for the DVB-786na model. However, loading the v3 file did not result in a fix.
