Galaxy 10R C band vs Ku problem (4DTV G0 & X0)

I have a Lifetime Ultra slaved to a 4DTV. I don't seem to have this problem with other hybrid birds, but on G10 my Ultra acts very confused. On G0 I get the outdoor channel and I should be able to get the many Ku channels on the X0 side. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. After tuning in the outdoor channel, I need to power off the Ultra and go into antenna setup and start changing all the settings (LNB, TP etc...) and sometimes this works and I get a signal, but not lately. So I guess my questions is, if I can tune the outdoor channel, how do I set up the Ku side?

? I notice that you asked a related question back in March, relative to C/Ku and diseq switch, and after the replies, I never saw a response from you indicating whether you got it figured out? I'm not sure what you are saying here relative to hybrid sats, but G10 should be no different from any other C/Ku sat (except AMC1 perhaps). Leave your 4DTV on G10, and control polarity with the 4DTV, and select C/Ku with the diseq switch A/B setting.
Rather than going back into the antenna setup and changing things, I would recommend creating a G10-C and a G10-Ku satellite, so you won't have to change your setup each time. The Lifetime has a limited number of satellite names, so you may need to change the name of a satellite that you can't see from your location. If you create 2 sat names, you should never have to go back to the antenna setup again for that sat.

Thanks for the reply. So I shouldn't put the 4DTV on X0 to get the Ku side?

Assuming that X0 is the Ku side, and assuming that you have found channels on the Ku side in order to tune up polarity, etc, then it shouldn't matter.
However, it is more likely that you have tuned your polarity better on the C band side since I think there are more channels viewable by the 4DTV on the C band side. The DVB receiver doesn't care whether you have the 4DTV on C or Ku band, but it does care if the polarity is correct.

I heard something about a diseqc switch here. If you are using some cheap one you found on ebay forget it.. that might be the problem. I just got a quality one from Sadoun and everything on my setup works great. I too needed to sometimes "play" with the settings to get a signal with a cheap switch I had. I finally noticed that was the problem and changed it.
