why G13 out of range

Hi friends, can anyone tell me why when i try to go to G13 using USALS i get an out of range indication.
I seem to be to go to G13 using 1.2 although that seems to be the last postion i can go to.

I live in Halifax Nova Scotia.
thanks

Make sure your latitude and longitude are entered properly in the USALS menu and that lat is 'North' and lon is 'West'. My ultra defaults to East longitude.

It seems that Ultra has a range limit set in software when using USALS not to go more than 60 degrees in each direction. Since your longitude is 63W the most it will let you go using USALS is to 123W. If it works fine using 1.2, then just use usals for all other satellites and 1.2 for G13 (actually ku side is called Horizons 1).

yes using 1.2 seems to work. but I am close to the 70 degree limit.
to bad the limit isn't 80 degrees.
Is this the fault of the motor? I am using SG2100 and the limit seems to be 70 degrees and thats set at the hard limits on the motor.

thanks for the reply friends.

I think sg2100 has the biggest angle of rotation out there. Other motors are even less than that.

I don't think that USALS problem is sg2100 problem. I think it is receiver's software problem. It probably assumed that +/- 60 is enough to see all of the arc

I removed east limit tab on my sg2100 so I can move it as far east as possible (I can go 100 degrees if I want to receive stuf in China through the ground - just kidding). I was hoping to maybe get Telstar 12, but it is just simply too low for me to receive.

I don't recommend doing this unless you have a motor to spare though and don't mind voiding any kind of warranties.
