Nope. You won't get any of those channels because none of the satellites mentioned cover North America. The only exception is PAS9 and the Japanese channel there is NHK and its C-band so the Fortec system (at least the dish) won't pick it up.

The Fortec system, and all FTA systems, will pick up channels from various satellites that are "free" -- non-scrambled. DishNetwork systems only pick up channels broadcast from DishNetwork satellites and you pay each month for the programming.

FTA (Free To Air) systems are great for foreign languages, religious programs and many other channels. Just remember that the satellite that carries the FTA channel (like your Japanese channel example from lyngsat) must cover North America in order for us to watch it here. Lyngsat lists satellites from all around the world.

Bobkat,

What size dish do you need to pick up c-band channels with the fortec ultra?

I guess the 80 cm isn't large enough right? i was going to buy a c-band lnb adapter but before I do , I wanted to make sure.

Generally for C-Band you need at least a 6 foot dish.
