Is Direct TV 18" dish and LNB can be used to hookup to

Is Direct TV 18" dish and Direct TV LNB can be used to hookup to FTA receiver for FTA surfing? I can not find any topic to give technical explanation of DSS LNB and FTA LNB. Anyone tried this? I hope it won't kill my FTA receiver.

Thanks for response. :P

It won't hurt your receiver, and it can be used to receive a very very few FTA signals that are on some of the DBS sats, however in general, the dish is too small to receive regular FTA signals, and the LNBF receives a different frequency range and is a circular polarized lnbf rather than linear.
If you want to experiment, set your LO freq to 11250. Most of the signals on the DBS sats are encrypted, but occasionally there will be something FTA that you can see.
