just bought a fortec star ultra need help connectiong ......

hi i just bought a fortec stra ultra right out of the box i connected to my direct tv dish and i am not getting any channels can some one shed some light on what i do next please am lost ?????

Sure, disconnect that DirecTv dish and hook up a 30" dish with a linear LNB and point it at a non-DTV satellite. Then do a little reading and decide exactly what you want to watch.

it does not work with a dtv dish?????

It won't bring in DirecTv signals. You need a bigger dish for most FTA channels. What satellites are you trying to look for?

can a direct TV dish be used at all (for future reference) can a dish network dish be used? I have both kinds and would like to put them to use.
