Fortec ultra thrown in trash

I originally purchased the fortec ultra for its blind search capability. When i purchased a dish motor, it would not control it at all. The firmware version 2.29 would not run the dish motor. Diseqc commands were erratic and motor would move back and forth with no input from me. I did all of the recommended procedures - re-boots and re-sets, upgraded to firmware 2.44 per diem fortec's instructions using their loader program. UPload was successful and receiver appeared to work fine. Blind searched about 6 satellites approx 400 channels stored (total radio and tv combined). The receiver then loses satellite position data. Dish either moves to the wrong place or not at all. Positions were all previously stored and working. I called Fortec and their tech told me to do the factory setting menu-)1660 then the 0000 and the receiver re-set. Of course i had to re-scan everything. It lost position data again . I went through this 12 times and NOW ITS GOING IN THE DARN TRASH. I SHOULD SMASH IT WITH A HAMMER AND SEND IT BACK TO FORTEC AND SCATTER IT ON THEIR LAWN. My recommendation is stay with Coship 2300's and 5000 series free to air receivers. I have never had the FIRST issue with a coship. I have even done my own software upgrades myself with no problems what so ever . I WILL NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM BUY ANTOHER COSHIP PRODUCT AGAIN. THIS RECEIVER HAS BEEN A BIG DISSAPOINTMENT! I have read a lot on this forum and others about the same common problems these ultra lifetimes have.ANYONE THINKING OF BUYING ONE FROM ANYWHERE THINK AGAIN....... YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR MONEY. THAT WAS JUST $200.00 STUCK UP A DUCK'S %*S. ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION THAT THE "ENREGISTAR" B-S*** THAT SHOWS UP UNDER TRANSPONDER CHOICES - THAT DOES NOT BELONG THERE. "10000" UNDER DISEQC SETUP MENU - WHAT THE HECK IS THAT!!

GOD HELP YOU IF YOU SPENT YOUR GOOD HARD EARNED MONEY ON ONE OF THESE FORTEC ULTRAS.

1. Why do you leave negative reviews here? Why don't you complain to the dealer you bought it from? You didn't buy it from Sadoun. Many other people on here have been happy with their Ultra's and don't consider it waste of money.

2. I have experienced problems that you mentioned, but I have not experienced them as frequently as you suggest and they have not been that big of an issue to me. As of right now I have 12 satellites stored with ver 600 channels and it has been working flawlessy for almost a month.

3. Maybe your reciever is indeed faulty and why don't you try to ask the dealer for a replacement or compensation.

I consider my money spent on it money well spent and don't regret it one bit.

If COSHIP receivers are so near and dear to your heart you can have my Coship CDVB5110... :roll: Its the biggest piece of sh*t I've ever seen, next to Microyal of course.... :lol:

If you are not happy with the product, please contact Sadoun directly. None of the members, including the mods, works for Sadoun. So it's not cool to put your frustration on others.

Micheal.. THe whole point is that he didn't even buy it from Sadoun. That;s what bothered me about all the negative posts. If he has problems or is not satisfied with the equpment he should take it with the dealer he got it from.

I think it is not fair to come to Sadoun's site and complain about the product that he didn't even buy from him.

Hi truckracer, Did you try using the usals setting for your motor control? I didn't have much luck setting mine up with diseqc 1.2 but USALS works perfectly once you set your dish and coordinates correctly.
