Diseqc 1.2 or usals won't work sg-2100

:cry: Help, my fortec ultra with software version 2.29 and boot version 5.1 will not move my sg-2100 motor. My coship 2300 B works well with the motor. However i want to use my fortec ultra because of it's "blind search" function. the motor when connected to the fortec show a green led (stand-by mode) when i go into the antenna setup menu and choose diseqc 1.2 or usals and i press a movement function, the led blinks orange and then does nothing. i have tried re-booting the reciever and re-setting the dish motor's reset button with a paper clip. Please help. Dion

The most recent firmware version for the Ultra is 2.44 found here:

there have been reports the earlier Ultra firmware was finicky with motors. You might want to upgrade to the lastest version to see if that helps your motor problem.

i have heard that if the transfer is interrupted or corrupted that the receiver is trash. Is this true? If their is an error can it be re-transferred and fixed or do i have to send it back to a qualified fortec technician? thanks trucker

Yes, that can be true. Some have hosed up their boxes, but many have been sucessful on the other hand, too.

To do the transfer you need the control trasnfer software, the new bin file, and a straight thru (NOT null cable) to connect a Windows 2000 or Windows XP computer to your box.

I have updated my firmware a couple times as Fortec released them, and it worked just fine.

If you don't feel confident, see if you can send the box back to your vendor and have them take care of it for a small fee.

Great news!!!! the update to the new version 2.44 ntsc bin file fixed my diseqc problems. my fortec ultra controls the sg-2100 like a charm. thanks to all who tried to help. My pc did not have a serial port so i went to the local radioshack and purchased a USB to SERIAL PORT ADAPTOR. it worked great. I have a compaq notebook computer with just 4 usb ports. Thought this may help those with the same problems.
