New Ultra Firmware 8/23

There is a new firmware update for Lifetime Ultra

Firmware - v.2.44NTSC ( August 23, 2004)

It doesn't list any significant updates,, just :
For NTSC TV systems (used in North America).
Updates:
-Compatible with the Channel Editor.
-Update to the Satellite list.

Anyone tried updating this? I might give it a shot tonight.

I haven't noticed any changes so I didn't post anything. If everything is working for you, I would stick with what you have right now

clock accuracy much better

I did the upgrade just after it was released. No problems so far.

The internal time-of-day clock of the device is much more accurate.
In the immediately previous firmware rev, it lost several minutes per day.

Now it's holding good time for > 4-5 days.

Haven't noticed much else different. With 2.39 I did encounter occasional transponder/channel data being lost uploading/downloading with gTools, which may be fixed in 2.44 - haven't tried it yet.

Also, with at least 2.39, when I was fine tuning sat position with my HH motor, it would move off somewhere else. I *think* that behavior may be gone or at least better in 2.44, but haven't tested enough to be sure.
