Adding new sat to 786NA, USALS position?

Just received a 786NA. Fortec website says "updates soon" for updated satellite / transponder data (from July, so who knows...)

The system currently is missing a satellite (AMC6, I think... it might be IA6, doesn't really matter...)

So I go into Sat/Transponder Edit, and I can create a Sat, name it, and create transponders for it. I'm using SM312D motor, and USALS/(diseqc 1.3) to position the dish.

Problem: I can find no place to set the new satellite's azimuth! It ends up at 0. Is there a way to add a new sat on this box with it's corresponding sky position for USALS use?

I have a 786 V3 and had the same issue when I tried to add a sat. The only way I found to add longitude was to use the channel editor which I believe I downloaded from the Fortec site loaded on my laptop...and you also need a null modem cable - A straight through cable like you would use on the Ultra will not work!

OK so I go to the fortec downloads area to get the channel editor so I can give your method a try.
It says to go to "main page" for the software?????????

From the Fortec website:
To upload this TP file to the receiver, use the Channel Editing software found on the main page of the download section. (Do not use the Uploader software.)

I give up. What does "main page of download section" mean?
Knowing how finickey these boxes can be with control software, of course I don't want to muck up this day's old unit with incorrect software.

Maybe I should have bought another Ultra...

Come on, don't give up...this is easy! When you get to Fortec's main page - look at the top of the page...between Warranties and Links you will find Downloads - click on that. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll find the channel editing software for the 786 boxes. Click on the link and a download box will pop-up and you are on your way. This software works great as I have used it many times with my 786V3. Just make sure you get a null modem cable.

Thanks. That's what I missed, scrolling down to see the software link.

And yes, I do have a null modem cable. Just a matter of finding it.
