Interference

I'm getting faint waves of lines on the tv screen at a 45 degree angle. When I unplug the cable to the dish they disappear. The system has been up and running for a week now and I didn't change anything to make this happen.

Anyone have any ideas?

bad rf cable? run audion and video cables from the receiver to the tv. another reason might be FM interference.

I don't use the RF cable. I am using the S-VHS cable and L-R audio cables.

One thing I'm thinking of is that I used the 75 Ft cable from the RCA satellite kit and it has some kind of copper wire running in it that I think you're supposed to ground? I didn't use it and it's still attached to the outside of the cable. I didn't strip it off. Maybe it's picking something up - acting like an ariale of some sort?

Did you ever figure out how to get rid of those waves? There are on my TV two.

But I did not see it with my old receiver. The difference is that on my old receiver, LNB in and IF TV are on the left and right side of the receiver back.

Yes and I feel a little humbled saying this.

It was the S-VHS cable that was causing the problem so check and test all your cables.

Not that I needed such a high quality cable to replace the bad cable but I went out and bought a Monster brand cable and the quality is very much improved as well.
