786NA or 9800v2?

Hi:

First of all, I am a new customer, but I am very impressed with your site; lots of information, support and this forum!

I am thinking of getting either the 786NA system (standard choice set) or the 9800v2 (premium choice set). What is the CI slot really for? I know it is not a good question to ask here, but is the CI slot for viewing scambled channels like those with DishNetwork or DirectTV? Can I view them without subscribing (illegally, of course)?

Also, if I order the 9800v2, when will I receive the whole system, given it is on back order?

There is no rebate for the 9800v2?

Thanks,

Peter

The built-in CI slots are used for Conditional Access Modules (CAM) and smatrcard. These are used for decoding encrypted pay channels, by authorized subscription, of course. We do not condone usage of this receiver for illegal signal reception.

The 9800v2, 9800HDD, and the 6000CI will be here and shipping out on Monday. We only have a very limited quantity of these receivers, and thus no incentives are offered.

Thanks for the info. I still have one more question:
Lets say that I am a currently a dish DTV/Network customers, should I be able just to use that subcribed smart card with this 9800 receiver without any activation? Another word should I be able to just insert the subed smart card into this 9800 receiver and be able to watch the authorized channels immediately (of course I need to point the dish to the right sattelite orbit) without the need of calling their customer service for activation? The way I understand is that we should be able to swap the DTV card to be used with this receiver, but it would not be possible to use the Dishnetwork card with this receiver since Dishnetwork requires the receiver to be authorized (activation) with the subed card. Am I correct? :?:

MTA on Telstar4

I got new Fortec 786 sys. from Sadoun.I switched old reeceiver by the Fortec receiver and MTA was coming fine without changing the dish. Then comes the wind. Since that day I have not been able to get MTA. I have called numerous times to Sadoun and been to forum also but so far No success. I need to know what settings(freq,PID etc.) do I have to put in. I keep on getting ABC News when I am on the channel search. Should I keep this on ABC or MTA 21?
If I do the factory Reset what info do i need to put in I need that, Please.
Thanks
