newbie questions

I just got a fortec ultra receiver and I am pointied @ echo119,I do a scan and I get radio stations but no video.I have good quality bar and I am locked on the sat but I get bad channel message.What version of software should I be using and any other help would be welcomed.

Fortec Ultra is a FTA receiver. It can only receive programming that is not encrypted. Only radio stations and maybe few promotional channels are available FTA on that satellite.

If you want t receive other channels you have to use DISH network provided receiver and have a current subscription. Any other discussion is illegal.
