Connecting two receivers to one dish...

Both the DVB-786v3 and the Lifetime Ultra have an IF loop through connector which the manual says can be used to connect a second receiver. I have not been able to find any instructions on how to make the connection or to program the second receiver to work. Does anyone know how to get the second receiver to work when connected to another receiver through the loop through connector?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Connecting two receivers to one dish...

Signal in of the 2nd receiver connects to signal out of the 1st receiver. Make sure to turn off the lnbf power of the 2nd receiver. You can watch different channels on the same polarity, in other words if the 1st tunes a channel on Vertical, the 2nd receiver can't tune channels on Horizotal.

Thanks dtsexpert...
I tried your suggestion but the second receiver still goes through the process of attempting to move the dish and then search for channels. How do you tune in the channels on the second receiver?

Re: More...

Disable to Diseqc 1.2
If you have motorized dish, the 1st receiver is the one to cotrol the h-h mount, not the 2nd receiver.

I have both a 786 v3 and an Ultra and I use a 2-way HF splitter which is power passive on both ports. All I do is turn off the receiver I do not wish to use. I use either receiver to turn my motor drive.

There are many ways to slave receivers to each others. Most of the time, spilter is needed for those who has C and Ku bands. If one plan to slave 2 DVB receivers to each other, a spilter is not needed (assuming receivers has loop-thru connectors)

Thanks Jim,

That setup is an excellent setup, but the one I am trying to do is to get the two receivers to tune channels from the same satellite. Are there any directions available on how to setup the second receiver? I have already turned off the LNB power as well as the power for the motor. How do you then tune in the channels?
