Problems with my brand new Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra

Hi I have a few problems with my brand new Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra:

1. Sometimes, running the power scan several times WITH THE SAME SETTINGS I get different channels on the same satellite. Am I doing something wrong?

2. Many times, when I scan a transponder, with the exact settings as in the Lynsat tables, I get nothing, even though quite a few channels should be there. I tried that with many trnasponders.

3. Many times, when I try to edit a transponder, the receiver won't save it, or would not accept certain numbers. for example I tried on Anik F1, 3962 on tp 7A and it would accept only 3961. By the way, is one digit (last significant) going to make a difference?

4. Sometimes when I got to setup, there is no menu. I have to turn the receiver off, plug it out of the wall and get it back on.

5. After a long and tedious effort I was able to find the channels I wanted. Last night though, all of a sudden, I get the message "scrambled or bad channel". I see the signal level, which seems to be OK, however except for this message I get nothing.

After all these stories, do you think that the unit is defective?

Please advise.

Thank you

Naftali

I think you have a problem with the software. Try to reset your receiver and see if that changes anything. Do you have the original software on your receiver?

As for lyngsat listing not all frequesncies will work. It depends on your lnb and your dish size.

For the message you see, sometimes the problem is a weak signal. Although you see the signal level is ok It could be not enough to display the image. If you have a motor, ultra intends sometimes to show a good signal level even if you are pointing to the wrong satellite.
