Which is better 786 vs Ultra

Hello Everyone:

I am considering purchasing a FTA system, but can't decide which one to choose: 786 o Ultra. Some people say that the 786 is much better than the Ultra, but the Ultra is newer so it should be better, right? Also, I have the DirecTV elliptical antenna with three LNBs, will I be able to get any channels or I need to buy I bigger antenna. I am interested on network and Mexico Channels. Thanks.

Fortec 786 is way better than the Ultra nad easy to use and lock into the signal with no problem. The ultra takes many secondes to detect the signal(makes the installation very difficult) and its menus are not so easy.
Also the 786 is cheaper and smaller. For the dish question you have to tell us what channels you are looking to receive and wheer do you live.
Have fun

The major diff between the two is the Ultra has the blind search mode. Choose a blind search receiver if you like to hunt for the news feeds.
Good Hunting.

Thanks for the reply. I am looking at Solidaridad and SatMex 5 at this. Or can you tell what other satellites I can reach from San Diego, CA. Thanks.

I think Hispasat is easy to get on your location with a 90 cm dish. You can get TV channels from spain and the Arab world.

Footprint is just one thing, can you see a sat if the dish elevation is negative 6 degs (-6)?
