only free channels

If any one can give me some information I would appreciate it. I hook up aLifetime Ultra today and I keep getting the message Scramble or bad channel when I try to view a station. What am I doing wrong? I have it pointing to echo 119. I have a 90% quilty and 94% signal. It picks up radio just fine.
thanks in advance.

Re: only free channels

The receiver is designed for FTA channels. Most of the DishNetwork are encrypted. FYI, no hacking posts are allowed in this forum.

Not to sound sarcastic or rude, but you can talk about it with your lawyer. Discussion like that is illegal and not allowed anywhere on this forum. If all you people think that it is not possible to track down who you are by posting on here (or anywhere else), Dish network lawyers will figure out a way.

See for example Galaxy 10R satellite http://www.lyngsat.com/g10r.html
Anything with an F is free to air. Everything else is scrambled and won't work with an FTA receiver.

LOL !!!  Nice post. We've all heard about the famous Dave "Letters"; I suspect it won't be long before there will be more of the same -- this time from Chuck...

I think Dave is just a nick for DirecTv but Chuck is a real person; Charles Ergen, founder and CEO of EchoStar Corp. -- parent company of DishNetwork.

You Better Believe It!

The Dish network lawyers WILL find a way to track you down for posts regarding hacking (also called "forcing"). They can go through the Administrators and Moderators, your service provider, your school/college records, and possibly your work record, in order to get information about you, such as where you live, phone number, etc. If they contact your employer to get information, you may lose your job because many places of employment DO NOT allow anyone who is convicted of a crime or involved in any illegal activities to work, so please, employed or not--be careful!! No hacking talk, please. vj9999 has spoken! :!: :!:
