Hello,
I am repeating a post made in forum "New users" here, in the hope that it might catch the attention of some one who is experienced with these receivers. I inadvertently deleted the channels in the TP list. Now when I press "OK" I get the message NO CHANNELS INSTALLED. The problem is that no matter what I try from the various menus, I just cant get any channels reinstalled. I have plenty of channels in the Transponder list but getting them in the area where I can select them for viewing is impossible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have this receiver. But this problem is not hard to fix. Jsut rescan all the transponders will bring you get you all the channels available again.
You might read the manual for instruction of how to do the scaning.

Well, I am sorry but things just aren't that simple. I tried for hours every possible combination; scanning Automatically, scanning manually, one satellite at a time, one transponder at a time all satellites at once, I tried putting them in the favorites, no matter what I do when I exit the menu (it doesn’t always ask if I wish to save either and doesn’t give you that choice, regardless of what I try). When I exit out of that menu and I Press ok or if I press channel up or channel down or if I press volume up or down, I always get the message "NO CHANNELS INSTALLED" very disconcerting. I find that the book doesn’t give much help or ANY HELP in locating this problem. Oh yes one thing that I have noticed that was not present before is the FORTEC LOGO with the satellite appears when turned on.
Any more hints??

Re: 5200PVR
1. Make sure the transponder list you have is up to date. Check it against lyngsat.
2. Make sure you get lock on all the transponders before scaning the channels.
Tell us what sat your dish aims at and what channels are you trying to scan.

Well I am still tinkering, I have had no success so far. It looks though as if I have an antenna out of kilter some how. I have a good 80% strength on some channels but Zero quality on all. I tried aiming at various satellites eg Nimiq 2 at 82.0W I tried Anik F1 and a few more. What I find crazy; is that I am having a good 80% sig, and it dosen't seem to be critical at all. I could swing the dish widely off course an still get signal. I cant be getting the sats. so I just have to get a satellite meter and start over. I have to wait for some help. I will keep every one up to date. In the meantime any suggestions in the mean time will be greatly appreciated.

Signal strength does not mean anthing since it includes noise. Make sure you set LOF at 11250 and use linear lnbf (dishnetwork or directtv).
May I ask why you aim your dish at Nimiq2 since most of the channels are encrypted?

Well I am tired of working up in the air trying to findsatellites that I cannot see. This is not as easy as one might think. So good ole Sadouin will come to my rescue, by selling me a satellite meter. I will eagerly await its arrival.

I tried to see if I could get a lock on one of the few satellites with "F" =Free on it which turned out to be impossible for me, so I thought it wont hurt to try any satellite free or not. The last dish I had some one installed it for me. With a tool like a meter I figure I might try to learn to do it myself.
Will keep you posted. Regards, pasco.
