Master Reset your receiver before & after uploading TP D

Hello,

I have a FORTEC STAR 6000. On the download page of the FORTEC STAR web site, it is indicated:

TP Data - v2.07 ( January 04, 2003) Click Here to Download
Update your TP data. Master Reset your receiver before & after uploading TP Data v2.07.

What is exactly TP data? Why is it necessary to master reset the receiver AFTER uploading TP data? When dowloading channel data to the receiver from the channel editing software, is it also necessary to master reset the receiver?

Thanks.

STB Editor

You must Master reset the receiver when you transfer a TP file (or any file for that matter) when you use the Uploader software. Similar to a PC, when you upload new software to your computer, you need to restart you computer. However, when you use the STB Editor, you are not loading new software, but rather changing data. Therefore you should not Master Reset your receiver. When you turn off your receiver, it will save the new data (channel information). If you Master Reset your receiver, you will lose the data you uploaded using the STB Editor, and you will need to upload the same file again from your STB Editor.
